ỌLỌRUN OLùMọ̀RÀN ỌKÀN

OLUWA mọ ìgbà tí mo jókòó, ati ìgbà tí mo dìde;
OLUWA mọ èrò ọkàn mi láti òkèèrè réré.

2YOU know when I sit and when I rise YOU perceive my thoughts from afar.
OLUWA yẹ ìrìn ẹsẹ̀ mi ati àbọ̀sinmi mi wò;
gbogbo ọ̀nà mi ni OLODUMARE sì mọ̀.

3YOU discern my going out and my lying down; YOU are familiar with all my ways.
Kódà kí n tó sọ ọ̀rọ̀ jáde lẹ́nu,
OLUWA, ti mọ gbogbo nǹkan tí mo fẹ́ sọ patapata.

Before a word is on my tongue YOU, LORD, know it completely.
OLUWA pa mí mọ́, níwájú ati lẹ́yìn;
OLUWA n gbé ọwọ́ ààbò lé mi.

YOU hem me in behind and before, and you lay YOUR hand upon me.
Irú ìmọ̀ yìí jẹ́ ohun ìyanu fún mi, ó ga jù, ojú mi kò tó o.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
Níbo ni mo lè sá lọ, tí ẹ̀mí OLUWA kò ní sí níbẹ̀?
Níbo ni mo lè sá gbà tí ojú OLORUN kò ní tó mi?

Where can I go from YOUR Spirit? Where can I flee from YOUR presence?
Ǹ báà gòkè re ọ̀run, OLORUN wà níbẹ̀!
Bí mo sì tẹ́ ibùsùn mi sí isà òkú, n óo bá OLODUMARE níbẹ̀.

If I go up to the heavens, YOU are there; if I make my bed in the depths, YOU are there.
Ǹ báà hu ìyẹ́, kí n fò lọ sí ibi ojúmọ́ ti ń mọ́ wá, kí n lọ pàgọ́ sí ibi tí òkun pin sí,
If I rise on the wings of the dawn if I settle on the far side of the sea,
Níbẹ̀ gan-an, ọwọ́ OLODUMARE ni yóo máa tọ́ mi,
tí ọwọ́ ọ̀tún OLORUN yóo sì dì mí mú.

Even there YOUR hand will guide me, YOUR right hand will hold me fast.
Bí mo bá wí pé kí kìkì òkùnkùn bò mí mọ́lẹ̀, kí ọ̀sán di òru fún mi,
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”
òkùnkùn gan-an kò ṣú jù fún OLUWA;
òru mọ́lẹ̀ bí ọ̀sán; lójú OLODUMARE, ìmọ́lẹ̀ kò yàtọ̀ sí òkùnkùn.

even the darkness will not be dark to YOU; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to YOU.
Nítorí OLUWA ni o dá inú mi,

For YOU created my inmost being; YOU knit me together in my mother’s womb.

sinu ìwé wọ́n, kí ọjọ́ ayé mi tilẹ̀ tó bẹ̀rẹ̀ rárá.

YOUR eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in YOUR book before one of them came to be.
ỌLORUN, iyebíye ni èrò YIN lójú mi!
Wọ́n pọ̀ pupọ ní iye.

How precious to me are YOUR thoughts,GOD! How vast is the sum of them!

Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—
